Preparation of Methods for Assimilation of Local Undercutting of Cohesionless Soil under the Influence of River and Marine Constructions in Consideration of Water Flow and Sediment Transport

Abstract

A new conception of local erosion of riverbeds near the river banks and certain types of river or sea structures is proposed. It is assumed that the greatest deformations are due to the activity of the screw currents behind the bottom ridges. A number of mathematical models have also been proposed for the rapid and effective calculation of the kinematic characteristics of the flow and deformations of the bed. The models can be used for environmental and hydro-technical assessments.
