Abstract

The current environmental problems of the Northern Crimea related to the operation of the acid accumulator of the Crimean Titan plant of the Armyansk Branch of "Crimean Titanium" in the Western Sivash are considered. The results of hydrochemical surveys of the acid reservoir waters carried out in the autumn of 2018 are given. The water balance components for the acid accumulator (precipitation falling on its surface, evaporation) are calculated, and their long-term and seasonal variability is analyzed. The fresh water volume needed to maintain a stable level of liquid in an acid storage tank is calculated after loss of water supply through the North-Crimean Canal and aridization of the climate of the Northern Crimea. Possible ways of solving the ecological crisis in the Northern Crimea are given.
