Abstract

The rate of removal of mineral nitrogen is calculated based on monitoring data on biogenic elements in the marine waters of the eastern part of the Sevastopol Bay, which is influenced by the Chernaya River runoff as the dominant source of nutrients. The ecosystem's ability of the selected area to self-purification with respect to certain forms of inorganic nitrogen is assessed. Comparative analysis of the assimilation capacity of the ecosystem under study with inorganic nitrogen introduced by the Chernaya River waters was showed a lack of accuracy in the ability to self-purify the ecosystem of the mouth of the Sevastopol Bay.
