Abstract
The normative documents, classifications, lists and terminology on dangerous phenomena in the seas, rivers and reservoirs was critical analysed. Classification of weather, hydrochemical and ecological hazards in the sea mouths of the rivers of the Black and Azov Seas (within Russia and Ukraine) is proposed according to the degree of danger, which greatly simplifies their analysis and preserves continuity with the traditional division of adverse events into dangerous (D), particularly dangerous (PD) and catastrophic (C). The prevailing D and PD events are considered in the river mouths of the Azov and Black Sea basin.
