Abstract

The validity of adaptive balance of causes method (ABC-method) is given for numerical simulation of the nitrification process in the marine environment, on the example of the Sevastopol Bay. As external data, series of full-scale measurements of nitrogen inorganic form (nitrate and ammonium) are used, without considering temperature effect. The final comparison between the result of adaptive modeling and full-scale data on the model parameter (nitrite concentration) is made. The model is characterized as rough, but of acceptable quality: for the approximation of in situ data, the level of forecast accuracy was 65,7 %, for recovered full-scale data without assimilation it is 54,3%.
