Abstract
The circulation model NEMO OPA with low-resolution configuration is implemented for basins of the Black, Azov and Marmara seas. As initial conditions for the Black and Azov seas several salinity values distributed on a vertical and a horizontal have been chosen, temperature was also uniform. Simulations allow revealing the formation of upper and lower currents in the Bosphorus Strait caused by the salinity difference between the Black and Marmara Seas. In the model runs the upper current volume discharge is two times higher than the lower one.
