Abstract

he method for determining the concentration of suspended matter in seawater based on direct measurements of the beam attenuation coefficient is discussed. Suspended matter concentrations obtained by remote method are in good agreement with the results of calculation from the in situ data. The method allows to use simpler and faster optical instruments for subsatellite experiments.
