Abstract

An original procedure to restore the three-dimensional fields of temperature and salinity, in the deep Black Sea, based on the joint processing of altimetry and rare hydrological observations in the Black Sea for 1993 – 2012 is proposed. Daily average fields of sea temperature and salinity are restored. Structure the temperature and salinity fields is correlated with topography of altimetric level. The accuracy of the reconstructed fields is evaluated by means of comparison with in situ data.
