Creation of a Regional Specialized Database in the Framework of Pan-Eurasian Experiment to Study Processes in the Sea-Land Interactive Zone of the Crimean Peninsula

Abstract

At present, the international program PEEX (Pan-Eurasian Experiment) is realized in the framework of cooperation with the European Union. The program includes a large-scale research aimed at environmental safety under conditions of anthropogenic effect and climatic changes. One of the PEEX goals is focused on studying of the coastal processes. The information resources of the Oceanographic Data Bank of the Marine Hydrophysical Institute are considered, they are used to study the wind and wave regime in the Black Sea coastal zone, and the accumulated experience in the information support of the coastal zone research is showed. A special emphasis is placed upon the data obtained in the sea-land interactive zone and at the meteorological station of the Simferopol airport.
