Academic career

1970–1990 – studying variability of hydrophysical fields in oceans and seas. Significant results were obtained in the experimental study of the spatial and temporal characteristics of internal waves. Experimental work was performed on this topic in different areas of the Atlantic Ocean, Mediterranean and Black Seas.

1990–2010 – problem solving in the field of coastal research in the Black and Mediterranean Seas; study of water dynamics in the Black Sea shelf zone and Black Sea level variability in relation to the problem of the global sea level rise; assessment of climate change regime characteristics of the Black Sea level and factors influencing their formation, assessment of the contribution of level changes to the coastline dynamics.

Since 2010 – studying lithodynamics of the Black Sea coastal zone, assessment of the contribution of anthropogenic factors to its variability, studying problems of the coastal zone ecological safety.
